Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Neuron Tuition collects, why, and what your rights are. Neuron Tuition is run by Charlie Stone, a sole trader based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, who is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect
- Enquiries: the name, email address, level, lesson format, subject and message you send through the website form or by email.
- Consultation bookings: the name, email and any notes you enter when booking through our Google Calendar booking page.
- Lessons: the student's name, school year, exam board, subjects, diagnostic test results, lesson notes and progress records, plus the parent or carer's contact details.
- Payments: a record of lessons paid for. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
- Messages: anything you send us by WhatsApp, text or phone.
Why we use it
- To reply to enquiries and arrange consultations. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
- To plan and deliver lessons and report progress to parents. Lawful basis: performing our agreement with you.
- To take payment and keep financial records. Lawful basis: our agreement with you, and our legal obligation to keep tax records.
We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
Children's information
Most of our students are under 18. We collect a student's information from their parent or carer, use only what's needed to teach them, and keep parents copied into lesson communication for students under 16.
Who we share it with
We only share information with services we use to run the business:
- Google (Workspace: email, Calendar, Meet, Drive and Sheets) to store enquiries, bookings and lesson records and to run online lessons.
- Stripe to take card payments.
- Cloudflare to host this website. Its web analytics are cookie-free and do not identify you.
- WhatsApp if you choose to message us there.
- Associate tutors working with Neuron Tuition, only for the students they teach.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to lessons: deleted within 12 months.
- Lesson records: kept while lessons continue and deleted within 12 months after they end.
- Payment records: kept for 6 years, as required for tax.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our booking and payment pages are run by Google and Stripe, which may use their own essential cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@neurontuition.com and we will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
